Contest: BRAVING THE STORM

Brave the Storm! Submit your written or visual work. 

 

The staff of The Howl welcomes all high school students to submit to our very first contest! Our theme is “Braving the Storm.” Literal or figurative, send us some turbulent art. We will select one winner from each of the following categories (three winners total): 

 

    – Flash Fiction (1,000 words or less) 

    – Poetry (limit of one poem) 

    – Visual Art (traditional, digital, photography, collage, etc.) 

 

REQUIREMENTS: 

    • Submitters must be high-school students (ages 14-18) and must include a third-person bio with their submission (including your name, age, and a little bit about yourself).  
    • Contest winners under 18 will need to have a permission slip signed by a parent or guardian before work gets posted.
    • One completed piece per person.
    • Work must be original and exclusively submitted to The Howl.

The winners will receive a featured spot on The Howl website and a $25 Amazon gift card. Submissions will be accepted through February 1, 2025. Winners will be announced in April. We look forward to seeing everyone’s beautiful work!
