Apple Pie, Liam Garrett

She is everything you want her to be

Tied up in a neat, tidy bow

She is put in the oven at 350°

She will come out in a sweet candied apple pie

Sugar glaze

Shimmer on her skin

Cuts and bruises covered in toffee

Powder sugar

Dashed with her kiss

A kiss filled with tart apple cider

She is a beautiful girl, but she is bitter and sour on the inside

A sweet girl

One we twist and bake

When she sees herself

All shiny and fake

Her fingers will tremble

While her arms are devoured

She is no longer that sweet Apple Pie

She won’t even be a Chocolate Macadamia Nut

She is no longer Banana Cream, nor will she be kissed by Huckleberry or Cherry.

She is now too tart and sour to be Key Lime or Lemon.

She is twisted and turned

Cut her open, and she spills

She no longer tastes like toffee

Nor that sweet apple

However, she is still and motionless

I dare you to take another bite.
