Love, my mystery, by Aiden Mathis

Love, My Mystery

I walk this land with

Dead hands and a

Wrinkled heart. I have

Found my comrades

Yet I feel empty with

My sullen eyes.

I look for what they call

Love yet my lungs remain

Crushed by the weight of

Fear. I wish upon stars, upon

The luck that I may have an

Equal.

I run aimlessly through my

Graveyard counting the

Withered flowers yet my

Heart burns to ash for I

Can’t hold this feeling.

My sunken body was left

With no one to hold it.

My wishes reach the stars

And I become one with the

Silence of them. I pray that I

May find someone to whom

I may give my beating heart.

Love, my mystery.
