He. She. I., by Jennelle Fernando

He walked towards her.

She was still.

He said,

“I know you from somewhere,

I wonder where.”

 

She said,

“I really don’t know.”

She hid her contempt,

The anger towards him.

 

He scratched his head,

And walked

Around in circles.

 

But what I knew,

He didn’t.

This was once his best friend.

Jennelle is a grade 13 student in her secondary school in her country (equivalent to year 12 high school), and she is in the process of discovering herself.
